About The Institute of Krinst Studies

Krinst Central in Reykjavik, Iceland
The Institute of Krinst Studies was founded in 1981 by a group of scholars* who shared a preoccupation with the legendary Urdichter of the American literary underground, Alvin Krinst. Its task has been to gather, rediscover, and reconstruct the Master's oeuvre, disseminate it to a broader public, and follow developments in the post-Krinstian community at large. In addition to our many publications (all of which will eventually be available here on line) we hold yearly Krinstfests and other events.
This site, still under construction, is meant to serve the fundamental
informational needs of the rapidly expanding worldwide Krinstian community. It will
contain fascinating Krinst news (including a guide to freshly disinterred Krinst
works), communications from the average Krinstian-in-the-street (like you!), a forum
where scholars of differing persuasions may post biographical articles, a glitzy
game-show where the reader may vote to authenticate photographs submitted by Krinstians
as possible images of the Master (three images a week, with the winner passing on
to the next week!), letters, and of course online access to the fabulous and ever-growing
Fafnir Finkelmeyer Archive of Krinstiana. Please stay tuned.
